Auction Clearing (Quantum Optimization)
Modeled welfare-maximizing carbon credit auction clearing as a combinatorial optimization problem,
encoding it as a QUBO/Ising Hamiltonian where the ground state represents the optimal allocation.
Used D-Wave's simulated annealing to solve the model, validating against classical MILP baselines
and reaching solutions within 2% of optimal.
